Tomboy's

On Friday night, after work, we went to this bar in Santa Monica to watch the Aussie Rules Football Grand Final where to put it nicely, we all had a good time. And of course after a night of goodness, you need epic breakfast the next morning to help recover. That's where Tomboy's in Manhattan Beach comes in to play.

And - as a native east-Michigander, we hold something near and dear to us, and that's our Coney Islands. The chili is the best comfort food because it can be smothered on everything. Coney dogs, omelets, french fries with cheese and onions and mustard. Ugh, I could go on! But Tomboy's is a close reminder of that. Their chili is pretty ace and definitely reminds me a home, which was much needed when you know it's 3000 miles away.

Hence, why I ordered this gem of an breakfast. This omelet was smothered in their chili and topped with cheese. The only thing that would have made this a little more awesome would have been if it was sprinkled with white onion. Next time... NEXT TIME!!

A burrito is also a must for any Saturday morning recovery. Filled with cheese, chorizo, and home fries, there was just enough carbs to put me to sleep afterwards.

And to top it off, two fluffy buttermilk pancakes, because why the hell NOT! It's Saturday morning. Nobody is allowed to judge you. That's the rules.

Spent the rest of the day napping and dreaming of English muffins. But more on that later...

Cheers,

Kate
